Determining the wind parameters for massive stars and ultraluminous x-ray sources using model grids of extended atmospheres
In order to obtain mass estimates of the parameters of winds in massive stars and ultraluminous x-ray sources (ULX), the CMFGEN code was used to compute grids of non-LTE extended model atmospheres. The resulting equivalent width diagrams plotted for selected emission lines were used to determine the photosphere temperature and matter outflow rates in the winds of several LBV and Of/late-WN type stars in our Galaxy and M31. A comparison of the derived quantities with the results of detailed computations by other authors showed an agreement within 2% for the temperature and 20% for the gas outflow rates. For the first time, ULX wind parameters were obtained: the values are in the 33000-36000 K interval and (1.1-7.6)×10-5 solar masses per year. The observed equivalent widths of the lines were measured as a result of object spectroscopy carried out with the 6-meter telescope of SAO RAS as well as large foreign telescopes.
